Opening ceremony with optimism & int’l character

In the presence of important representatives of the political and business life not only of Greece, but also of many other countries, the official opening ceremony of FOOD EXPO 2022 took place, proving how important the exhibition is for the Food and Beverage sector in the region of Southeastern Europe.

The opening ceremony of the FOOD EXPO exhibition took place on Saturday, March 12 at 11:00 in the C2 conference room of the Metropolitan Expo, by the Minister of Rural Development & Food, Mr. Georgios Georgantas. During his speech, Mr. talked about the contribution of the exhibition to the development of the food and beverage sector in Greece and the leading role it plays in the extroversion of companies operating in this field.

As he characteristically said: “Today, is a very important day for the primary sector in the country, because FOOD EXPO combines quality Greek products, very good processing companies and those who have successfully undertaken exports around the world. I am happy that I will launch such an important exhibition, after 2 years of absence. I wish great success to FOOD EXPO, and even greater wealth of products every year “.

Dr. Roland Fleck, CEO of the Nurnbergmesse Exhibition Group, of which FORUM SA is a member during his speech mentioned that: the “fire” of exhibitions has never been extinguished in the last 2 years. The restart of the exhibitions clearly showed that the exhibitors and the visitors are still looking for them. Then Mr. Ioannis Giotis, President of the Association of Greek Food Industries, addressed to the attendees: “SEVT as a representative of the Greek food and beverage industry participates for the 6th time in the exhibition, which it has put under its auspices. It is important that these days at FOOD EXPO, businesses and buyers from all over the world will once again be close together and the acquisitions of food items will be promoted. I wish good luck to FOOD EXPO with interest, both for the participants and for the visitors”.

Mr. Panagiotis Hasapis, Executive Vice President of Exporters Association said: “I am very happy to be here today in 2022, after two years of absence. FOOD EXPO is the most important exhibition in the food and beverage sector in the S.E. Europe and helps strengthening the extroversion of Greek companies. FOOD EXPO and SEVE have contributed in the development course of Greek exports in recent years and despite the pandemic and the unstable economic environment, exports are breaking one record after another.”

Mr. George Patoulis, Governor of Attica Region & Vice President of the European Committee of the Regions stated that: “FOOD EXPO is the leading international exhibition of food and beverages in our country. As a region of Attica, we participate with 30 companies in the sector, which worthily represent our agri-food products. I wish dynamic results in the success of this year FOOD EXPO and the Greek flavors to continue to impress the foreigners”.

Mr. Andreas Poulas, Member of Parliament for Argolida and Head of Rural Development and Food of KINAL wished good luck to FOOD EXPO, while Mr. Stavros Arachovitis, Member of Parliament for SYRIZA, also addressed a greeting saying: “In 2019 I had the honor to inaugurate the exhibition, as a Minister. I wish good luck to the exhibition”.
