5,000 international buyers will visit FOOD EXPO 2020

There is expectation for a new spectacular increase in the turnout of international buyers for the 7th FOOD EXPO – more than 5,000 are expected to visit- “securing” a new record for the exhibition.

In FOOD EXPO 2019 there was an impressive rise in visits of key buyers from international target markets for Greek food and beverages compared to 2018. The attendance of 3,500 international buyers translates to a percentage increase of 21%. Good organization, the quality and quantity of Greek and foreign exhibitors, as well as the richness of the exhibits, are just some of the reasons that major food traders attend FOOD EXPO every year, making it the most important food and beverage commercial forum in Southeastern Europe! Therefore, the next exhibition event, in 2020, according to first estimates, will be a magnet for 5,000 international buyers, confirming once again its international character and orientation. So, we are dealing with a significant increase of 30% in international visitors compared to the 2019 event.

83 countries will .... ``visit`` FOOD EXPO 2020

It is significant that these 5,000 international buyers are owners and major executives in large supermarket chains and minimarkets, traditional groceries and delicatessens, mass catering venues, hotels; and are also the owners of or chefs in restaurants serving Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. Their visit at the exhibition gives them the opportunity to get informed about all the latest news and new products and have b2b meetings with the Greek and foreign exhibitors; to choose among the best in the market, increase their product variety, improve the overall image of their business and directly close business deals. It is worth noting that these international visitors come from 83 major target markets for Greek and Mediterranean food and beverages such as the United Arab Emirates, the U.S.A., China, India, Russia, Japan, Canada, the United States Brazil, but also several European states such as: Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, etc. Thus, Greek and foreign exhibitors, in a three-day period, will have the opportunity to meet, at one place, with a significant number of foreign buyers from 83 countries and have meetings and direct commercial transactions.

900 Hosted buyers, 18,000 b2b meetings

Of these 5,000 international buyers, the 950 most important will join the Hosted Buyer Program that the organizing company FORUM S.A. has successfully established these past years, managing to attract through it the leading traders of the food and beverage industry. These hosted buyers are expected to have more than 18,000 b2b meetings with the exhibitors of FOOD EXPO 2020.
